Religious Fundamentalism and rising extremism, in various forms, represent the greatest threats to human rights worldwide today. For instance, so much of violences and hatred are spread to humanity. A number of young people today are fed up with religions because of such religious fundamentalism. Often religions had been lost to their true source and it’s purposes. Religious Fundamentalism is a strict submission to the religious doctrines. It involves a literal interpretation of sacred texts and a belief in the infallibility of those texts or beliefs. Rather than adapting to modern thinking or understanding, fundamentalists often seek to preserve traditional beliefs and practices unchanged. It involves a literal interpretation of religious texts and teachings, often leading to rigid and uncompromising views. This mindset can manifest in all religions which can create lots of fear and closed attitudes rather than open and embracing.

On the other hand, fundamentals of religion encompass the core creeds and essential teachings that form the foundation of a belief system. These fundamentals serve as guiding principles for followers, shaping their moral compasses and spiritual journeys. Unlike religious fundamentalism, focusing on fundamentals allows for interpretations that align with contemporary values and societal changes with respect and understanding.

While religious fundamentalism emphasizes strict cohesion to traditional beliefs and practices, fundamentals of religion provide a broader framework for understanding and practicing faith. Religious fundamentalism often leads to exclusivity and dogmatism, whereas embracing the fundamentals of religion can foster inclusivity and flexibility in interpretation and understanding.

In a world marked by different beliefs and interpretations, it is important to understand religious nuances and religious tenets. This enables respectful dialogue and mutual understanding, creating harmony and cohesion among religious communities in various fields. By acceptance, religious principles while respecting personal interpretations, we can develop a culture of tolerance and coexistence.

Ultimately, whether one chooses to adhere to religious fundamentalism or focus on the fundamentals of religion, the essence of faith lies in seeking spiritual enlightenment, practicing compassion, and embodying the values taught by religious teachings. By transcending rigid dogmas and embracing the core principles of love, empathy, and unity, individuals can truly embody the essence of their faith.
